Ready in 3 Steps!
You don't need an external team or heavy machinery. With İzotüp portable kits, you can do your own insulation to professional standards. Here's everything you need to know to get started:
Preparation: Safety and Surface Check
Preparing the area and yourself before application ensures you get the highest efficiency.
- Safety Equipment: Always use the protective suit, gloves, and mask included in your package. Make sure the application area is well-ventilated.
- Surface Preparation: The surface to be applied must be dry and clean. Surfaces free of dust, oil, and dirt yield the best results. Adhesion may be poor on damp surfaces.
- Ideal Temperature: For best performance, the liquid temperature inside the tubes must be between 20-30°C. If the tubes are too cold, they should be kept at room temperature before application.
Application
1. Setup (Open and Connect)
- Open the box and place the cylinders upright.
- Connect the hoses securely to the cylinder valves according to their colors (component A and B).
- Open the cylinder valves completely and check for leaks in the system.
- Attach the appropriate nozzle (fan or narrow spray) to the gun tip based on your application type.
2. Test Shot (Achieve Balance)
- Perform a 2-3 second test shot into an empty box or trash bag to clear air from the hoses and ensure equal flow of both components.
- If the foam color is homogeneous (usually cream/yellowish) and the reaction is fast, you're ready.
3. Spraying (Start Insulating)
- Hold the gun approximately 30-45 cm away from the surface.
- Spray with continuous and slow movements, as if painting the surface.
- Since the foam will expand 30 times in seconds, be careful to keep the first layer thin. You can apply the second layer 1-2 minutes later if needed.
💡 Professional Tips
- Nozzle Cleaning: If you pause application for more than 30 seconds, the foam inside the nozzle at the gun tip will harden. In this case, immediately replace the nozzle with a new one.
- Layer Thickness: Instead of applying too thick at once, applying in thin layers provides a better cell structure and higher insulation value.
- Wind Control: When applying in open areas, pay attention to the direction of the wind; small foam particles can fly and stick to surrounding surfaces.
✅ After Application
- Valve Closing: When you are finished, close the cylinder valves tightly.
- Maintenance: If you plan to reuse the kit later, keep the valves closed with material remaining in the hoses. Clean the gun tip with cleaner.
- Full Cure: The foam reaches tack-free in 1-2 minutes and full strength in 1 hour.
